Shelter Plus Care

Yuma and LaPaz Counties, AZ (two grants): This program is designed to link rental assistance to supportive services for the "hard-to-serve" homeless person with disabilities, primarily those who are seriously mentally ill; have chronic problems with alcohol, drugs or both; or have acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) and related diseases and their families. Rental assistance programs are matched in the aggregate by supportive services that are equally in value to the amount of rental assistance and appropriate to the needs of the population served. Other matching monies that re designated for support services of homeless individuals and families are provided through the State Regional Behavioral Health Authority (RBHA).
